Since opening its doors in 1955, Harrisburg Christian School (HCS) has served families across the Greater Harrisburg area for seven decades, growing into a thriving K–12 college-preparatory school set on thirty-eight acres of Blue Mountain and accredited by ACSI and the Middle States Association. Operated by the Christian School Association of Greater Harrisburg, HCS pursues its mission of partnering with families to provide Christ-centered education that sharpens minds, deepens faith, and develops gifts, and its vision of preparing students to impact the world for Christ.
HCS is seeking its next Head of School, following the faithful service of a respected and much-loved leader who departs to answer a new calling. The new Head of School will demonstrate the spiritual maturity, leadership readiness, and strategic capacity to carry the school’s identity forward faithfully into its next chapter, with an anticipated start in June/July 2027 for the 2027–28 school year.
HCS's program is shaped by six core values — Scripture, Learning, Community, Excellence, Discipleship, and Leadership.
High school students can take Dual Enrollment courses included in tuition, preparing them well for college-level work.
Students engage in a thriving fine arts program, Knights Athletics, weekly chapel, Spiritual Emphasis Retreats, and a variety of clubs and organizations.
HCS was founded by parents who believed the responsibility for their children's education according to Scripture was theirs, not the state's — a conviction that still shapes the school's family-partnership approach today.
HCS currently serves 353 students across grades K–12, supported by a staff of 60.
