Strategic Planning

Planning a future that goes to plan.

The dynamic of a capable board and school leaders make a plan possible. These are paramount priorities for fulfilling the mission.

Visioning

Our process gives stakeholders the ability to clearly articulate and apply their passionate vision. When a plan is complete, school constituents should feel heard and inspired, while leaders and staff have a clear understanding on what part they play.

The NextEd Method

NextEd looks at current operations and perceptions—conducting surveys, focus groups, and a full review of key documents. Then we apply our knowledge of key education metrics and report findings/opportunities.
Key stakeholders are led through a highly collaborative “wrestling” based on the report findings to settle on a fully executable 3-5 year working plan.

Our team conducts a full analysis of the financial and functional supports that will be necessary to support the plan. Then we unpack these needs alongside the key stakeholders.

Long-term success of an effective strategic plan can often be traced to the Board’s engagement.

If a full-phased Strategic Plan is not needed, NextEd hosts one-day retreats for boards to stay effective.

Defining Expectations

The morning starts with an upfront look at the local context and governance culture, while identifying goals. The distinct roles of Board and Head of School are clarified and affirmed.

Getting Interactive

The board members work through interactive case studies and Q&As that identify best practices, friction points, and the root questions that can spark issues.

Identifying Next Steps

The goal of the day is always mission fulfillment. NextEd provides wisdom in how to address the needs, and in what order, so a board leaves with tangible next steps.

Continuing Counsel

To prevent this from being a one-off experience that loses momentum, NextEd offers continued counsel of strategic planning, coaching for Board and Head of School, and much more.

Strategic Planning

Or maybe it’s every Head of School is part project manager. Whatever way you slice it, there is much to be learned from the project management field. Don’t multi-task without these core focus points.

The proof is in the people.

Take the first step toward your next step today!

Whatever you need, NextEd can find the way forward with you. It all starts with a conversation about you, and the existing opportunity (or pain point) you face.
